In 2019, the then CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment Shawn Layden announced his resignation from his post, due to (according to his words) stress and his vision of the current gaming market. However, today Shawn himself announced the beginning of a new working adventure, within one of the most emerging giants of the videogame medium: Tencent.

The news came directly from the account LinkedIn by Layden himself:

“I am delighted to share with you the fact that I joined Tencent Games as a strategic advisor. In this new role, I hope to advise, assist and support the Tencent teams as they deepen their commitment and activity within the industry to which I have given most of my career. We are in an important era for gaming and interactive entertainment.
There are so many avenues in front of us but some are deep, extensive, inclusive, uplifting, inspiring and sustainable.
I am excited to continue this journey of discovery
and I thank Tencent for the opportunity. "
