Let's go back to the hacker attack it involved Capcom last November. It seems in fact that among the many files disclosed by the ransomware group Ragnar Locker, some images belonging to the franchises of resident evil devil may cry have been used as extremes for one lawsuit against the Japanese software house, accused by the designer Judy A. Juracek of having used his images improperly.

According to the document published on Scribd and disclosed by Polygon, the artist would have from his several evidence proving the unauthorized use of at least 80 fotografie from his illustration book Surfaces (1996), comparing them to different textures implemented in the logos, 3D models and surfaces of the following games: Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Remake, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, Devil May Cry 3, Devil May Cry 4 and many others.

If the lawsuit goes all the way, Capcom would risk paying compensation equal to 12 million dollars. At the moment, no representative of the software house has wanted to comment on the story.
