Deathloop, the new Arkane Lyon title announced as a Playstation 5 timeline exclusive, has been officially postponed.
The communication came directly from the French studio, which in one signed note by the game director Dinga Bakaba at the same time also unveiled the new release date, set at 14 September next.
“We have made the decision to delay the launch of Deathloop until September 14, 2021. We are committed to quality and preserving our team's ambitions for Deathloop while ensuring the health and safety of everyone in Arkane. We will use this extra time to achieve our goal: to create a shocking, elegant and fun experience for the player. We apologize for the long wait and thank you for your passion and excitement. This is the fuel that fuels our creativity and hard work. We can't wait to show you Deathloop further, soon! "
The game is an original FPS in which two assassins find themselves trapped in a strange time loop on the island of Blackreef, forced to eternally relive the same day. More in-depth information on it is not yet known, so we will have to wait a little longer to get more information on the title of the French study, which has remained Playstation temporal exclusive despite Arkane joining the Xbox Game Studios after Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda.
