Steam has set a new record for the number of users connected simultaneously to the platform. The previously recorded highest figure only held up since January, when Valve's site reached 25 million users.

The new peak is over 26 million, 26.401.443 to be precise. The previous record of 25.416.720 was only recorded on January 2 of this year. Steam has been recording new peaks since March 2020, when the worldwide lockdown forced many at home.

In all likelihood it was the pandemic that encouraged such an influx of users on the Valve platform. Meanwhile, the company is expanding both with regard to Steam, with the release of the Chinese version, both with regard to new technologies with a new prototype of helmet for virtual reality.
