Immediately after Nvidia, also AMD kept the usual annual keynote at CES 2021. A keynote presented by the usual CEO of the company Lisa Su and which was completely focused on the new processors coming to the world of laptops and workstations.
The first novelty concerns the ultrabook processors, with the presentation of the Ryzen 5000 Mobile, a CPU line divided into H series e U series.
During the presentation, attention was paid to the models top of the range of both series. If with Ryzen 5700U we are faced with a CPU from 8 cores and 16 threads, with a boostable frequency up to 4.4 GHz; Ryzen 5900HX is a monster of power dedicated to gaming with 8 core, 16 thread, 20 MB of Cache L2 + L3 for a frequency capable of reaching 4.6 GHz.
There was no shortage of surprises for fans of workstation, datacenter e supercomputer. For them, AMD has offered a small taste of its new CPU Epyc Milan. It is not yet clear the release date or the technical specifications, but Lisa Su has confirmed that this new CPU it will outperform the competition by 68%.
The event was also attended by representatives of Lucasfilm, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team e Lenovo, all great partners of AMD precisely in the sectors that benefit from these high-performance CPUs.
