2021 may not have opened in the best way for fans of the Indie scene on consoles Nintendo. Without any warning in fact, the American headquarters of the Kyoto giant would have delistato 250 games belonging to the catalog DSi Ware available on Nintendo eShop.
PSA to 3DS gamers and DS fans: all DSiWare games released before mid-May 2011 have been deactivated on the eShop, including the classic Shantae Risky's Revenge! Luckily I got it on my DSi before that shop shut down. Grab from those still for sale while you can! Recs in thread .. pic.twitter.com/lVcawxTq8e

For the less informed, Nintendo in the 2017 closed access to DSi Shop, a software pre-loaded on each Nintendo DSi / DSi XL which - like its big sister Nintendo Wii - allowed the purchase of various software developed by Nintendo itself or by various indie developers. Unlike the Wii Shop, more than 400 titles were spared from oblivion, finding a home on the Nintendo eShop… until 1 January 2021, the day this operation would begin.
According to the site Delisted Games, all software released before mid-2011 can no longer be purchased. Among these we point out:
- Shantae: Risky's Revenge
- Asphalt 4
- X-Scape
- Aura Climber
- Zenonia
- Spotto!
- Mighty Flip Champs
- Escapee GO!
- Dr. Mario Express
- Mr. Driller
- Soul of Darkness
- Legends of Exidia
- Spin Six
- The Oregon Trail
- Glow Artisan
At the moment, these changes have not been applied in European and Asian eShops e It is still unclear whether this is an error or an intentional operation by Nintendo of America, but for safety we advise you to recover all the titles already purchased, before they disappear from us too!
