When we hear we speak of Ray Tracing we all think of a technology so advanced that it requires hardware with very high specifications in order to manage the amount of calculations required. Well, someone managed to get it working on SNES.

The idea came to Ben Carter who tried his hand at modifying a cartridge containing the SuperRT demo. The software in question is in fact a demonstration version of the engine used in StarFox, SuperFX precisely. The result, however spartan, is still effective.

"I wanted to try to do something similar to the Super FX chip used in titles like Star Fox, where SNES excellently handles solids calculations through cartridge chips"
