For Google Stadia it has certainly not been a year to frame. The cloud gaming platform, launched last year, has greatly struggled to take off mainly due to a small catalog and a communication strategy that is not always brilliant but, thanks to the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, seems to have been able to seize an excellent opportunity for redemption.
CDProjekt RED's work runs with satisfactory performance on Google Stadia and, perhaps for the first time, the public has decided to give a chance to a platform that does not require a particular hardware to start playing, other than a very common Chrome browser or an app on a smartphone. Moreover, the Mountain View company has decided to link the purchase of a copy of the game to a coupon to redeem at no cost a "Stadia Premiere Edition" kit (which consists of a Chromecast Ultra and a Stadia controller), a promotion which he literally did "The bang" in the last few days enough to go sold out earlier than expected, as stated by Google itself in a note appeared on Reddit:
"Hello everyone, due to a surprisingly positive reception, we have closed the Cyberpunk 2077 promotion in all countries. If you placed an order before 4 PM PT on December 13 (14am on December XNUMX in Italy) you are eligible for the promotion and will receive your code within seven days to redeem Stadia Premiere Edition. Thanks for all the support and we hope you are all enjoying Night City! ”.
An unexpected success then, which represented the first real Google Stadia ring since the launch day, which took place in November 2019. An even greater success in Canada, where the promotion linked to Cyberpunk 2077 it had already sold out on 10 December, shortly after the game was released.
Ultimately, an opportunity well exploited across the board, also considering the recent launch of the platform on eight other European markets and the introduction of a new function that allows you to broadcast your games on Youtube without having to resort to the use of dedicated streaming software.
