IKEA yesterday announced a new one collaboration with an unexpected partner: Republic of Gamers. The goal is to create a line of thirty pieces of furniture made especially for gamers.
For over a year, IKEA has been exploring the world of gaming with the help of UNYQ and Area Academy. Research by the Swedish furniture giant has now led to the development of a new product line in collaboration with Republic of Gamers.
The goal is not just to exploit a market niche that now has 2,5 billion potential customers. This partnership aims to take gaming furniture to a new level. IKEA is committed to making gaming furniture more affordable, in line with its business model.
Through the statements of Kris Huang, General Manager of ASUS Gaming Gear listed on the IKEA website, ROG expressed their enthusiasm:
“ROG is thrilled to partner with IKEA to create a new lifestyle for gamers. All gamers dream of a space that is both comfortable and functional for immersion in the video game. Thanks to its years of experience in the industry, ROG perfectly understands the gamer community. This combined with IKEA's expertise in furniture will allow gamers to build the gaming space they have always dreamed of in the comfort of your own home. "
The furniture line will debut in China, where it was produced, by February 2021. The rest of the world will have to wait a few more months to access it, but no later than October of the same year.
