A few hours after the launch of Horizon Zero Dawn, the long-awaited analysis of Digital Foundry, now a real point of reference as regards the examination of the technical sector of video games. And, with a little surprise, the result is that of a large insufficiency.
In the technical examination carried out by Alex Battaglia with updated drivers and day one patches applied, several critical issues are highlighted in the PC version of the Guerrilla Games title. In fact, the shortcomings from the point of view of texture detail and frame rate stability seem conspicuous, with rather serious stuttering problems and, on some GPUs, performance that collapses until it falls below those guaranteed by PS4. To complete the picture, further problems emerge in the use of the borderless window and a V-Sync that does not seem to perform correctly.
For the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn then comes a clear and unexpected slating (even if some critical issues had already emerged during the review), especially considering the excellent results achieved by the porting of Death Stranding, which uses the same Decima Engine by Guerrilla Games.
