The long-distance battle with licensing between FIFA and PES continues. Last year, Konami's football simulator had secured Juventus' exclusivity, favoring the birth of the much talked about "Piedmont Football" in the title of EA Sports. The news today is that this, one year later, will lose another important piece of Serie A. FIFA 21 in fact, will also see the absence of Roma, which has not renewed the partnership agreement with Electronic Arts, as reported in a official note:
"In EA SPORTS FIFA 21, AS Roma will become Roma FC, playable and equipped with a coat of arms and personalized uniforms in the Kick-Off, Career, EA SPORTS FIFA Ultimate Team and VOLTA FOOTBALL modes. Roma FC will compete in the Stadion Olympik.
Roma FC will have authentic real world football players and their similarities in EA SPORTS FIFA 21 and EA SPORTS FIFA 21 Ultimate Team. The understanding of the players within EA SPORTS FIFA 21 Ultimate Team will not be affected by these changes.
We would like to thank all the people of AS Roma for these years of collaboration as Official Club Video Gaming partner of the club ".
Although there is no announcement relating to an exclusive agreement of the capitoline company with Konami, this will remain available, fully licensed, only on PES. In turn, in the past few weeks, the Japanese software house had lost the partnership with Inter and Milan which, in 2021, will be present with official names and logos only on FIFA.
