Microsoft has just announced, through its Italian division, support for theCoronavirus emergency that the country is going through right now.

In the dish there are several initiatives to support companies and students, making available the remarkable technologies available to the company based in Redmond, as well as several donations aimed at supporting public health.

In a historical moment as uncertain and delicate as the current one, Microsoft Italy confirms its commitment on the territory and announce one series of measures to help the country to deal with the ongoing health emergency.

Primarily, donations to support those who are facing this frontline crisis: Microsoft Italy has donated to Francesca Rava Foundation a figure equal to 70.000 € which will be used for the purchase and timely delivery of equipment for setting up the new Intensive Care Unit of the Milan Polyclinic. The donation will allow the purchase of some of the machinery and tools necessary to make the new area of ​​the Milanese hospital fully operational. Others 30.000 € coming from voluntary donations from Microsoft employees through the Rete del Dono platform they will instead be donated to Italian Red Cross.

These initiatives are part of a larger project that sees Microsoft directly committed throughout Italy to ensure business continuity for companies that can still operate and to guarantee the right to study for students who in this moment of emergency cannot go to school. In this context, in fact, Microsoft Italia has made available its technology, its skills and its experts, supported by the Partner ecosystem and in collaboration with the Institutions, to help organizations, universities and educational institutions to rapidly implement the most suitable solutions for working and studying at a distance.

On the one hand, Microsoft is supporting companies across the country to enable smart working, offering free access to the Microsoft Teams collaboration platform - a strategic tool to enable new remote working methods that has reached 44 in recent days. millions of daily users - and taking part, with their partner ecosystem, in the Flexible Working solidarity project, an information and service platform, where the country's organizations can find all the useful resources - technical, methodological and usage documentation - to understand the advantages of smart working and access to free installation services to quickly adopt the best solution according to your needs.

On the other, the Microsoft Education team is working together with the Ministry of Education and the Regional School Offices to help schools of all levels throughout the country to accelerate the delivery of distance lessons and thus allow students not to having to interrupt the course of study. It is doing so through a task force of experts and a busy webinar program to guide teachers and school managers to make the most of the Office365 Education features, or a package of programs and applications, always available for free, capable of transforming their own class in a digital classroom. At the moment 40.000 teachers and school managers have been reached.

Even Microsoft has therefore taken the field in this difficult moment. The health emergency could turn into, in the coming months economic emergency. Support to companies in the sector, or in any case using the products in question, could therefore benefit significantly from this maneuver.
