The President of Activision, Rob kostich, in a recent meeting with investors has spoken of players' behavior regarding in-game purchases in the new game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which for the first time saw the business model change into post launch microtransactions. In fact, this year's CoD does not have the classic inside Season Pass with additional maps, or the much criticized Loot Box inserted in Black Ops 4, but the model adopted was that of Battle Pass, in Fortnite and Apex Legends style, where players can already see in advance the unlockables that will be obtained by buying the aforementioned pass.

Second Kostich the base player of Call of Duty appreciated this change within the brand, which he said was made "to offer a better experience to the community", so much so that Modern Warfare is recording receipts in microtransactions taller of "at least a two-digit percentage" compared to its predecessor, Black Ops 4.
