Joker is knocking on the billion dollar door becoming the first movie to touch this box office milestone.
According to a Variety, Joker should have hit a billion dollars this past Friday. This result is totally awaited for a film shot on a modest budget, we're talking about $ 62.5 million dollars in budget.
With this result, the Joker has become one of the most profitable films in the history of cinema. The film became DC's fourth feature to hit the billion dollars with Aquaman for $ 1.148 billion, The Dark Knight - Return with $ 1.081 billion and The Dark Knight with $ 1.004 billion.
With these results, Joker also takes the finish line for the first film R-Rated to earn so much to become the biggest 44 movie in history at the box office.
Although these results are remarkable, for Warner Bros the Joker's result was not at all obvious and with this in mind, Warner sought out external investors to mitigate the risk of failure. Not only that, Joaquin Phoenix and Todd Philips were made back end agreements, but given the result the actor and the director are now enjoying the fruit of their efforts.
Now DC is working on new films for the next few years as Birds of Prey released on February 20, Wonder Woman 1984 due out in June 2020, The Batman in June 2021, The Suicide Squad for August 2021, Black Adam in December 2021 and Aquaman 2 in December 2022.
What do you think of the Joker result? Did you enjoy the movie? Do you think that you deserve this goal or are you part of those who did not like it here? In the meantime, you've heard that Can Anthem enjoy a second life?
