Borderlands 3 will not have support cross-play at launch in September, but functionality may be added later. To say it is the boss of Gearbox, Randy Pitchford, su Twitter.

His statement came after Gearbox released a teaser which invited players to "celebrate together". Some people have interpreted it as a reference to cross-play but it seems to be a mistake. The teaser is referring to something else and we will have to wait for the 16 July to know for sure.

"Some people might speculate that this thing tomorrow could be about cross-play. The thing of tomorrow is fantastic, but * does not * concern cross-play. Good news: we are committed to supporting cross-border play for Borderlands 3 with our partners as soon as possible after launch. "

Pitchford reiterated the absence of this functionality even in a reply tweet, arguing that his arrival should be a positive experience and on as many platforms as possible.

According to Pitchford, the publisher 2K Games make all the relevant decisions. Borderlands 3 still has a Coop support up to four players.

Borderlands 3 will be released on September 13 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and will also come up Google Stadia.
