We have recently discovered with E3 how much the battle system of Final Fantasy VII Remake will differ from the original version. At the same time, we saw how the system of Subject, that is the gems that equipped to the objects of the inventory allow to cast spells, will remain substantially unchanged, even if this time they will even be visible inside the equipped weapons. So basically we will still be able to equip them in our weapons, so they will still play a key role in the game.

In an interview with Famitsu, already released but of which an extended version was recently published, Nomura has however declared that given the changes made to the gameplay, some of them have proved unsuitable, which is why the remake will include entirely new Materia, while others will retire.

It will be interesting to see what changes the Japanese director intends to make to the more purely component action of the gameplay. Obviously, Materia come Enemy Away Sneak Attack they make little sense in a context without casual encounters. Among other things, it was confirmed that the Summon they will make their appearance in the game, although it is still unclear in what ways. Probably some of them will be available as DLC, while for the moment no other subjects have been included in additional content.

Recall that Final Fantasy VII Remake (or at least the first episode) will be available from March 3 2020 on Playstation 4.
