Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is one of the most popular Nintendo games for smartphones, both for high quality and because all the fans of the brand could not (and still can) do nothing but play the mobile chapter waiting for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the 20 March 2020 game on Nintendo Switch.

Many believed that somehow the two titles would be linked, but to speak of what he thought of Aya Kyogoku of Nintendo, removing any doubt:

We want to be sure to separate the gameplay because we believe they are two different types of games.

Kyogoku has stated that the two chapters will remain separate since they have different goals and gameplay, with Pocket Camp that will continue to have a life of its own even once New Horizons arrives on Switch.

We do not know if in due course we will have a sort of companion app for smartphones linked to New Horizons, but what we can currently say is that for sure it will not be Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.
