The Director of Final Fantasy XV Hajime Tabata ha left Square Enix last year and announced the opening of a new study, JP Games, in December. Now he revealed the first project of study.

The study is developing, in collaboration with the International Paralympic Committee, The Pegasus Dream Tour, official video game of the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

"I wish to thank all the participants, who have helped me up to this point and make this announcement today. You will be able to enjoy the game when the time is ripe in the 2020 so stay tuned "

Pegasus Dream Tour is officially described as a "A completely new role-sport game in which players participate in a virtual Paralympic game that takes place in a fantasy metropolis known as Pegasus City".

Players control characters who have special abilities known as Xtra powers. The title will be published on various platforms, including smartphones.

The president of the International Paralympic Committee Andrew Parsons issued a statement:

"We are eager to explore innovative ways to engage new and young segments of the global audience. We believe this game will help increase interest in the Paralympic Games and make it easier for people around the world to enjoy and experience the warm atmosphere, passion and excitement of the event. Sport at the Paralympics is exceptional and helps transform attitudes towards people with disabilities like no other event. I'm really excited to play this title and see how the athletes' exceptional abilities are represented. "
