Il his successor, however, will be a figure whose name already appears iconic: Doug Bowser currently the vice president of the sales section of NOA.
Shuntaro Furukawa, the president of Nintendo, also wanted to pay tribute to Reggie fils-aime thanking him for his long career with the Kyoto industry, as we can see from the following statements:
I really appreciate everything that Reggie Fils-Aime has done for us. Both inside and outside the company, Reggie is recognized as an exceptional leader. We are grateful that you leave the company in good shape with a strong momentum for the future. Although we will miss him and wish him the best in his retirement, we are also happy to have a capable successor ready to take his place: Doug Bowser and the rest of the working group that will ensure a smooth transition and guarantee the continuity of the moment of Nintendo.
So officially ends an era that saw Reggie join Nintendo in the 2003 (a very difficult period under the management of the Gamecube and the GBA) but also experienced great successes such as Nintendo Wii, 3DS and Switch.
