As well as various software houses before her, too Square Enix has released the financial results of the 2017 fiscal year (31 2018 ended March), which mark a decline in sales physical compared to last year, but in general of the greater revenue thanks to digital.
The negative result is certainly also due to a smaller number of retail games published in the 2017 compared to the 2016, but the positive news comes from titles like Final Fantasy XV, Dragon Quest XI, which registered excellent sales all over the world. Also the two MMOs Dragon Quest X e Final Fantasy XIV they record good numbers with, as usual, the most successful first in the homeland and the second in the West.
Protagonists of these excellent results are also Never: Automata, with big sales on Steam and PlayStation Store, Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age, but also mobile titles like Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, Hoshi No Dragon Quest, Dragon Quest Monsters Super Light e Kingdom Hearts Union X.
Speaking of real figures, Square Enix's net sales have come to 191,469 million yen (-3.8%), confirming the negativity of the trend, with profits equal to 43.421 million yen (+ 30.4), which make the Japanese company smile.
